Be sure to clear the landing area before you make your final approach! We enjoy viewing wild life from the house but this can be an unnerving site from the cockpit...
After clearing Runway 24 use a left traffic pattern paying close attention to the rising terrain as you parallel the Patterson Creek Mountains. On final approach you will cross tall high voltage power lines which are well below a normal approach path to landing.
Runway 24 has about a 3% uphill grade which helps you slow down and the winds are usually out of the West or North West which helps. This is not a destination for the amateur aviator. As a mature aviator, there are times when I go to the local airport in Petersburg (W99) just a few miles to the South West. Pay attention to mountain wave activity!
Teresa enjoys traveling in the Comanche, she likes the speed of the swift machine!
